On November 9, 2011, Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK will hold its annual Native American Student Visitation Day, held on the same day as the SE Live Open House. Visitation Day is a great way for a student to catch a glimpse of the campus life. Students participating in the SE Native Visitation Day will get the chance to tour the campus, meet with Admissions and Financial Aid representatives, as well as attend workshops on Native American Language and Culture. There will also be Choctaw Nation representatives on site to talk about tribal funding.
Each student will get a SE backpack, and a lunch ticket for themselves and their parents. The first 100 students will also receive a t-shirt. There will also be a “social” game of stickball for students and their peers to participate in. More information as well as the registration form can be found at http://www.se.edu/future-students/visit/native-american-visit. If you are interested in SE and its 29% Native American Enrollment, I urge you to take part in this great opportunity!
