Staying Positive When School is Overwhelming

Have you felt that midterm strain yet? Every class giving a test, assigning a paper, or requiring a group project...maybe it's all of this in conjuction with the awesome OSU football season this year! Perhaps your family is wanting you to come home more often, but let's face it, you have a ton of homework and other commitments that require your time also. So how exactly do you make it through all of this stress and stay positive? I'm going to give a few tips on how this can be done with little to no effort.

  • Color-code your planner! It makes getting things done on time much easier.

  • Visualize that the end is near and it's a positive one!

  • Remember that sometimes it's okay to say no. It is always a good idea to take some time for yourself.

  • Make a playlist of your favorite songs to listen to while you are studying.

  • EXERCISE! Go on a hike, take a Zumba class, or stretch. This will release the tension in your muscles and make you feel much more relaxed.

These are just a few simple ways to relieve stress in your life. Just take a couple of minutes out of your day for some "you" time. I promise you will feel healthier and happier!
