The Scholarship in Scholarship Advisement

To best understand the scholarship component of SAP, it is best to sort it into two categories. The first category is comprised of “Competitive Scholarships”. These scholarships are developed by Choctaw Nation with the help of private donors. Each is competitive in nature and available only to those members of the Scholarship Advisement Program. How do I apply? Consideration for the competitive scholarships is an automatic process. SAP staff members run a query through our database of students matching criteria set forth by the donor of each scholarship (Note: Make sure your profile is complete!). If any other documents are necessary for a particular scholarship, the student will be notified.
The second component is the “SAP Scholarship Database”. The database houses around 40,000+ scholarships from all around the globe. Each scholarship within has details and application information. To make sorting these scholarships easier, you will be asked to complete a profile before searching. The information you provide will sort through and show the scholarships most relevant to yourself. There is also a Graduate Scholarship Database that follows the same guidelines. Remember: In order to access either database you must have your Tribal Membership verified by SAP.
In closing, please make use of every resource available, from the Competitive Scholarships to the Scholarship Database. Yakoke and Good Luck!
